Birds fly in and birds fly out
Of a little puddle with a waterspout,
They flitter and flutter as they bathe
And toss the water the puddle gave.
They all join in to take their baths
And the little pond becomes alive,
With the flutter of tiny wings everywhere
As busy as bees in a hive.
Some birds large and some birds small
It's like a jamboree or free-for-all,
Then some birds leave and anothers arrive
In this little puddle they seem so alive.
When some birds fly away, many follow
They all turn at the very same time,
Whether up or down or all around
They all have the same rhythm or rhyme.
Its amazing to watch them in unison
As they quickly dart here and there,
Like a small dark cloud twirling around
As it moves rapidly through the air.
Some are black birds some are ravens
Some are sparrows and morning doves too,
Each unique in color and size
Just the same as me and you..!!
They all have a voice and a chance to chirp
Or caw, tweet and even coo,
They speak their minds for the world to hear
Whether you listen is up to you.
We could take a lesson from our feathered friends
On how to treat each other,
Differences make us unique or special
But we are still sisters and brothers.
There should be a comradery among us
Where we all can get along with one another,
Though siblings may disagree from time to time
There is still a deep love among each other.
We can still work along side one another
And share in our labors of the day,
We can create a wonderful world together
And still listen to what each has to say.
We can respect the lives and dreams of others
We can share in their labors too,
We can unite in our purposes and desires
To bring about a better life for me and you.
So, imagine again the little flock of birds
And how they flitter and flutter so,
But when they leave and fly to greater heights
They gather together and in unison go!
